Call/email/write your CT State Representative/Senator and demand legislation that protects CT:
– ICE agents not be masked, always identify their name/agency
– Always have judicial warrant, no warrantless sweeps
– Require local police to intervene with ICE & stop them when acting illegally.
– And: allow citizens to sue ICE if their civil rights are violated.
Project Salt Box: https://projectsaltbox.substack.com/about
Connecticut state legislators and those in our local municipalities need to be aware of ICE’s push to buy land and warehouses to store its detainees. We need them to stay ahead of what is coming down the road, prepared to fight back against federal purchase of any such property in CT. ReSisters, an activist group in Lower Fairfield, CT, is turning its attention to this outrage and has plans to engage their elected representatives in heading off such purchases. See their sample letter to legislators below and feel free to use it to contact your legislators: https://grassrootsconnector.substack.com/p/project-salt-box
