Who We Are

Greater New Haven Indivisible (GNHI) is a local support group for the nationwide Indivisible movement. Their goal and our goal is to stop the fascist/authoritarian take-over of the United States federal government and demand a real lawful democracy for our citizens, residents and guests.

We support our members helping their communities in pursuing a democratic, pluralistic an inclusive society.

Our Mission

Remake our democracy
We are actively working to realize a vision of democracy that is more fully “of, by, and for the people” and more directly reflects “one person, one vote” with more equitably distribution of wealth and power so more people can realize the American dream.  

Embrace progressive values
We support progressive values and the policies, organizations, and structures that support them, valuing merit, respect and fairness in our actions.

Coordinate and Collaborate
We will coordinate, collaborate, and partner with other Indivisible and progressive groups and organizations on advocacy, and local, state, and federal elections, actions, and campaigns.

CODE OF CONDUCT

Greater New Haven Indivisible (GNHI) is committed to civil discourse and non-violent resistance to combat the attempted authoritarian takeover currently being committed. In our actions, we agree to model the values of inclusion, respect, fairness, and nonviolence. We agree to make every effort to be respectful at all times. We do not condone, nor will we join in, violent actions. We agree to attempt to de-escalate any potential confrontation to avoid or mitigate future violence.

History

The Greater New Haven Indivisible group had its first meeting on October 10, 2025. We have monthly meetings communicated on our calendar, in our newsletter and on our Discord Server.
